Stags youth smash five goals, too

MANSFIELD Town's youngsters showed that anything the first team can do, they can do too!
Two days after Bill Dearden's side smashed five without reply against Macclesfield, the youth team emulated the nap hand.

Dave Jervis' young guns hammered Alfreton 5-0 in the First Round on the FA Youth Cup.

However, unlike the first team, this time four of the goals came in the second half rather than before half-time.

In the next round the youngsters will again be at home, to either Stockport or Carlisle.

Grant Ryan scored before the break and in front of a 200-strong crowd the Stags added four more in the second period - Connor Higginson, Ryan again, Lewis Trimmer and Wayne Burrell on target.
