CHAD write-up on the radio phone-in:
What Derry said on 103.2 phone-in
By Tim Morriss
NEW Stags owner James Derry took part in a live phone-in with fans during Friday evening's Sport On Friday programme on local radio station 103.2.
The Mansfield Town FC chairman, praised by most supporters who took part in the show, made several promises to look at ticketing initiatives - including 'Kids for a Quid' and pro-rata 'half season' tickets .

And in response to one fan who said 'You are God', Mr Derry said: "It is nice to see there is a hardcore of support out there for me. I hope I can deliver."

Here is a summary of his other answers during the programme hosted by Jason Harrison:

Redeveloping the Bishop Street Stand is not high on his agenda at the moment and is not part of his takeover plans unless the club moves to a higher division.

He has great confidence in manager Billy Dearden and that the players are behind him. 'He is the right man for the job". In response to one fan saying Dearden should go.

The club shop is 'high on the agenda' and is part of 'various ideas'. The new club owner adds on the 103.2 Sport On Friday phone-in that developing the void area near the Executive Lounge under the West Stand is one of many plans for the club.

Manager Billy Dearden failed in a bid to land Peterborough striker Danny Crow on loan, with the player opting for Notts County instead.

Happy to meet fans group TEAM Mansfield. He wishes them well in their discussions with Keith Haslam over the future of their 3.3% shareholding in Mansfield Town FC. Also agrees to meet another fans group Stags Fans For Change.

Disagreed with fan who said the team is 4 or 5 players short of a team capable of stopping up.

Says he would hope to see attendances of 3,500-4,000 fairly quickly.

Told by Coun Kate Allsop that Mansfield District Council's 'door is always open, come and talk to us', in response to his appeal for council help.
