Haslam will not attend any more Stags home matches
CHAD.co.uk, 25 Sep 2007, By Tim Morriss
MANSFIELD Town managing director Keith Haslam has revealed he will not attend any more matches at Field Mill.
It was today reported that he came to the decision after the Chesterfield game, where he suffered abuse from fans.

Earlier today fans announced plans to stage a major protest against the owner this Saturday.

But Stags chairman James Derry said in a statement this afternoon: "I don't think fans should be focussing on protests against Keith Haslam because he won't be at any more home games and he will be leaving the football club.

"Instead it would be far more productive if everyone got behind the team. We need everyone's support at this time after a disappointing start to the season.

"Keith and I had a discussion shortly after the Chesterfield match and agreed that it would be in the best interests of the football club that he would not attend anymore home games.

"A protest on Saturday may be disturbing for the players and I think it would be much more useful if everyone concentrated on getting behind the team to spur us on to attaining three vital points."

Mr Derry added that he had no reason to believe that Mr Haslam does not want to sell the club.

"His advisors are actively looking to sell the club and have been co-operative with my parties," added Mr Derry
