Bingham Given Free Transfer - mansfieldtown.net

Michael Bingham has been told that he can leave Field Mill on a free
transfer.

The news comes as Stuart Watkiss looks to strengthen his squad and needs to
free up some finances to bring in new players.

Watkiss is keen to state that 'Bings' has done nothing wrong and it would
be a shame to see him go.

"Bings is a great lad, he's brilliant to have around and a pleasure to
manage. This situation is purely financial, Michael earns a considerable
amount of money, though his first team appearances are very limited. For
that reason I've come to the decision to let him go as it will free up cash
for me to bring in a new much needed defender. Michael's well aware of the
situation and has taken it well. We've put his name around lots of Division
2 and 3 clubs and we will help him as much as we can to move on in the
professional game.

"This news now means that there is a great opportunity for young Jason
White. He's recently signed on with the club as a professional and has been
on the bench for the two league games so far this season.Watkiss says, "We
think a lot of Jason and he has a bright future in football. His wages are
not as high as Michael's and with are wage structure we could allocate him
and the defender that I want. With no disrespect to Jason, he's not yet at
the stage that Michael is at, but he has bags of potential. It's a big
opportunity for him now."
