PERRY BUYOUT STILL ON
15th February 2007 17:35

'STAGS BUYOUT STILL ON'
Evening Post, 14 February 2007

Andy Perry today insisted he still wants to buy Mansfield Town - and hopes something can be finalised before the end of the season.

The club's shirt sponsor has yet to make a firm bid to owner Keith Haslam, saying paperwork had slowed him down.

But is aware of an asking price - which will remain confidential - and intends to make an offer.

He said: "There is still a strong interest from myself. My advisors are going through the paperwork.

"There has not been a lot of movement, but these things take time.

"Keith said he needed to see that I am in a position financially where I am not wasting his time. My advisers intend to do that through lawyers, to show that the funds are there.

"From that point we can obtain the other relevant paperwork we need and put forward our business plan."

Perry has met with the Stags Supporters' Association to discuss his ideas and added: "I haven't set a specific time frame but if it is not done by a certain point then you can't plan for next season.

"I would like things to be done for next season."
