LARKIN HAS TALKS
25th July 2002 10:47

Mansfield Town's official website (http://www.mansfieldtown.net) report that Colin Larkin will discuss terms with the club today, but that the deal can't be finalised until Monday when the Chairman returns from holiday.

Mansfield Town have moved a step closer to getting their man today, as Colin Larkin comes to Field Mill to discuss terms with the club. The Stags had their bid accepted by Wolves earlier in the week and after initial talks with the players' agent, Watkiss is "optomistic" that a deal can be sorted. The Irishman will be arriving at Field Mill later today to meet the manager and discuss terms. If all goes well, Watkiss believes that a deal could be completed as soon as Monday morning when chairman Keith Haslam, returns from holiday. Watkiss watched the player last night in a friendly for Wolves against the club where he was on loan last season, Kidderminster Harriers. After his performance last night, Watkiss is keener than ever to get him into the building; "I watched Colin last night and he was excellent, he would be a great asset to the club".
