Mansfield Town has lodged a bid for Wolves' young striker Colin Larkin.

The Stags have made an offer of £135,000 for the 20-year-old forward who spent most of the 2001/02 term out on-loan at Wednesday night's opponents, Kidderminster Harriers.

Mansfield manager, Stuart Watkiss, who is a former Wolves player, is currently looking for cover up front after goalscorer Chris Greenacre joined Stoke on a Bosman. Colin is 12 months into a three year contract but is facing limited opportunities at Molineux with the arrival of Nathan Blake, Dean Sturridge and Kenny Miller over the past year.

Dave Jones, speaking as he returned from the team's pre-season tour of Portugal, said: "I can confirm that we've received a bid for Colin. Clearly we have to properly look into the matter and I shall deal with it when I return to my desk tomorrow."
