It was a decent game. I'm pleased with the way we've passed it and the way we've been in possession. But our defending was atrocious. For the first goal, Adam Barrett got caught out of position. For the second goal, Craig Disley was earmarked to pick up Crowe in the wall and didn't. For the third goal, Wayne Corden - god only knows what he was playing at, he should just have cleared it. For the fourth goal it was far too easy down the right wing and for the fifth goal none of our players have reacted as quickly as their striker. We're going to be in tomorrow working on our defending. It's real basic defending that has cost us today.
But looking at the positives - we have got the ball down and passed it better than we have done for weeks. On chances it could have been 6-5 to us. Chrissy's hit the post, we've missed one from a yard and Scott Sellars has sent a free-kick just over.
Chrissy Greenacre has not been on top of his game, but I've no quarms about his work rate. Today was a bit of a kick up the backside and a bit of a tactical decision in leaving him out.
I'm delighted with Jamie Clarke at left back, and I'm pleased with Scott Sellars - he showed a bit of class with his goal. But if you defend like we did you don't deserve anything really.
I've not given up on promotion, Cheltenham have got a very hard run-in, and they've got to come to our place, so if we beat them, that could really tighten things up. We're not down and out, I'm a lot more optimistic after the way we've passed the ball today. But in all probability it is the play-offs. We've had a bad fortnight, but we've got to pick ourselves up and do our best.
The crowd were magnificent today. They've given us a great ovation at the end.
