SSA MEMBERSHIP BOOST
3rd July 2002 14:51

Membership of SSA has reached record levels, still over a month before the new season. The initial membership target of the official supporters group of MTFC was set at 750, yet by early July the figure had surpassed 770 an increase of over 100 on last seasons final total. Delighted SSA Vice-Chairman Rob Wheldon said that the figures represent a real vote of confidence in the new group and continued "We were delighted with the reception of Stags fans to the merger between the old SSC and SOS last year and this summer we have been astonished at the number of new members applying to join. We believe that with the considerable help of the football club we have put together a very attractive package for our members, which not only gives the fans considerable savings but also the knowledge that their money is helping our football club".

SSA already have sponsored both Dion Scott and Physio Barry Statham for the new season. In addition, the group has financed a new extending tunnel which should be in place at Field Mill very soon and continues to look at other areas in which to invest in the club. The group have also been very busy organising the Stags Open Day, which takes place at Field Mill on Sunday 21st July. Next season will see SSA organising the official away travel, with discounts promised for the longer away trips. If you'd like to join SSA then please click the SSA link.
