Palmer happy at Pressman Deal
As previously reported legendary goalkeeper Kevin Pressman has agreed to come to Field Mill as the number one goalkeeper, shaking hands on a one year deal that will see him between the sticks at Field Mill and doubling up as goalkeeping coach to the youngsters Jason White and Michael Langford.

Stags Boss Carlton Palmer is delighted that the stopper has agreed to turned down offers from 'bigger' clubs to come to Field Mill:

"Both Peter (Shirtliff) and I know Kevin from our time at Sheffield Wednesday and know exactly what he is like as a player and as a lad and more recently Peter was at Leicester last season with him where Kevin played approximately 20 game in the Championship so I am delighted that he has agreed to sign for us.

"I think Geographically it suits him been only a short drive from Sheffield so I said to him that we couldn't compete financially with the other clubs that came in for him but it is local and it would be a good chance for him to move into his coaching career.

"I have spoken to Jason (White) about bringing Kevin in as the number one keeper and explained to him my reasons for it. I will be sending Jason out on loan with a twenty-four hour call back clause. I told him that I gave James Spencer his first team debut at 16 when he was at Stockport, he has now just gone to Sunderland. I don't think that there is much between them as goalkeepers but I just wasn't convinced to go with him as my number 1 so he will be going out and playing regular football in the conference where he can gain his experience and hopefully when Kevin finishes Jason can take his place." Said Palmer

White will be training with the Stags working very closely with Pressman and travelling only to play the games with the non-league club which the Stags boss is keeping un-named at this point.

Pressman will be making his Stags debut between the sticks in tomorrow's game at Field Mill against Huddersfield Town KickOff 7.00pm.
