GLENNON SIGNS FOR FALKIRK

Falkirk Web Site:
BAIRNS SWOOP TO SIGN GLENNON

Falkirk FC have today confirmed that the Club has signed ex Hull and Carlisle United goalkeeper, Matt Glennon, on a one year deal.

The 26 year old had just finished at successful spell with Carlisle Utd when he was approached by the Head Coach.

Matt told the official site, "After speaking to the gaffer, I came up and had a look at the facilities, and was bowled over by the quality of the stadium and training facilities. I am desperate to get involved with the Bairns and hopefully the gaffer might give me a run at Berwick this evening.

Boss John Hughes commented, "Fair play to Matt, he had the foresight to look at what we had on offer and was impressed, as I knew he would be. He's exactly what I've been looking for, at 6'3" tall, with plenty of experience and an imposing presence. Most importantly, he wants to play for Falkirk, and that's an added bonus. I will consider the options available to me for tonight's match, and it is possible the fans may get their first glimpse of Matt between the sticks at Berwick."

This is contrast to the comment from Peter Shirtliff on Saturday that Glennon would be joining Celtic.
