Stags Youth 0 Chester City Youth 2
Saturday 6 November 2004 Report by John Street Stags Youth Team went down at home on Saturday against Chester City in a scrappy affair at Forest Town Welfare. The Stags were buoyed from their victory the previous week at Notts County but never really got going in this match, and their visitors were also quite happy to join in by continually thumping the ball from one end to the other. Chester took the lead with a scrappy goal halfway through the first half when the Stags failed to clear a bouncing ball in their box, and the second half mirrored this with another similar scenario for Chester's second goal. Stags had Macintosh injured in the first half, and he was replaced by Tom Curle, and there were few bright sparks from the Stags, an excellent rifled shot by Lloyd which was somehow cleared off the line, and good efforts by Parkes and Zaccarius. Langford was well worked in the Stags goal and made some fine saves when required. Langford, Beastall, Rennals, Macintosh, Holmes, Arnold, Jones, Lloyd, Sleath, Heron, Zaccarius. Subs Used: Curle, Parkes. |
