WATKISS PLANS FOR SEASON WITHOUT GREENACRE

Boss admits striker's future
Teamtalk, 17 May 2002
Stuart Watkiss has admitted that he will plan for next season without striker Chris Greenacre, who looks set for a switch to the First Division.
Greenacre has scored 49 goals in two seasons for The Stags but is now out of contract and available on a Bosman.
It was widely believed he had a move to First Division Bradford City lined up, though the Bantams' current financial plight, going into administration yesterday, and the wages of Benito Carbone may see that fall through.
But Watkiss said: "There is still a contract on the table for Chris here and it is a very good offer. He is obviously taking time out right now to consider his options but I am aware of more than one First Division club who are very keen to sign him.
"We have to be realistic and plan next season's campaign without him being a part of it though I would love to see him stay."
