Port Vale Reserves 1 Stags Reserves 0
Stagsnet report by John Street

Stags Reserves went down to the Valiants in a tight battle at Vale Park on
Tuesday afternoon.

Stags played some fine football in difficult conditions and evenly matched
the home side
in the first half without troubling the home keeper to much.

Early on the Stags threatened with their trialist who made a couple of
chances for Tait and Curle but they didnt force the home keeper into any
save.

Halfway through the first half however a poorly kicked clearance from Jason
White was quickly
put back into the Stags area and a goal lead for the home side resulted.

Jason White made amends with a couple of fine saves but the Stags could not
trouble the home goalie before the break.

The second half saw the Stags play the better football and when O Neill and
Tait were replaced
the Stags started to put some shots on target these were from Curle, Sleath,
and then Lloyd who beat the goalkeeper but saw his shot rattle the bar.

Stags could be happy with there display but the result would be a
disapointment on reflection.

Team:
White, Macintosh, Dimech, Rennals, Holmes, Trialist, Murray, Lloyd, CurleT, Tait, ONeill

Subs Used: Parks, Sleath, Heron, Lonsdale
