Report for Stagsnet by John Street

Stags Youth team travelled to a blustery Grove Farm, Nottingham for this Saturday morning clash and came away with a solid victory.

Stags who had yet to register a league win this season were strengthened by the inclusion of there two third years Tom Curle and Callum Lloyd to give the side extra bite.

The first half was a sturdy battle with the blustery wind blowing down the River Trent and making ball control almost impossible, however after the half time turnaround the wind seemed to abate and football became playable and the Stags seized the opportunity.

Their football was a pleasure to watch as they sprayed passes and goals from Lonsdale (2) and Danny Heron sealed a comprehensive team victory for the Stags, and the scoreline could have been even wider had the wind not have nullified the first half completely.

Paul Holland the Stags manager must have been delighted with the overall team performance and the way his side battled to this victory following their dour start to the season, and highly pleased with Rennals in defence and his strikers who worked hard in front of a solid and tight midfield which did a lot of the dirty work in this difficult fixture.

Team:
Langford, Macintosh, Rennals, Woods, CurleT, Arnold, Hunt, Lloyd, Sleath, Heron, Lonsdale
Subs: None Used
