Mansfield manager Stuart Watkiss has lined up a new midfielder for their Division Two campaign, but refuses to name him.
"We have identified the man we want, though I don't want to say too much about him as yet, and we feel we have a good chance of getting him in. "If that comes off it just leaves me to find a new striker and we have a short-list. "In all honesty, once we get those two deals sorted out, that will probably be it as far as next season's squad is concerned. "The only way I would probably be able to bring in new faces then would be if there were departures from the club. "There is talk of some money possibly coming in from ITV Digital if a deal can be sorted out. But we don't know if or when that will happen and it would be down to the chairman how that money would be spent at the end of the day." Source: Teamtalk |
