CURLE ADMITS STAGS LACK CONFIDENCE
Evening Post website

Mansfield manager Keith Curle admitted his players' lack of confidence is starting to take its toll.

Curle said: "Right now I have a fragile squad who are finding it very difficult to do the simple things.

"I can give them discipline and a style of play, but I need to find out how to give them confidence and the only way I know is to practise things repeatedly.

"I know the buck stops with me as manager and I'm not going to shy away from that. This is the hardest time I've had since I took the job."

Gareth Seddon fired Bury ahead from close range on 26 minutes and Danny Swailes doubled the lead three minutes from half-time with a penalty after David Nugent was fouled in the area by Luke Dimech.

The Shakers sealed their win on the hour when Seddon rifled home from 18 yards for his second of the night.

We Were Due A Win Like This – Barrow

Post match comments from a happy Graham Barrow after the fantastic win over Mansfield Town at Gigg Lane.

“That was a good performance, but it was touch and go with the Swansea game for the best performance. It was a good performance, and that is the main thing, I think it has been coming for a while now. There were signs of it there on Saturday.”

“I looked around the club this week and one or two people looked a bit despondent after Saturday, but all those odd points we've picked up look like good points now. Mansfield couldn't cope with the pace of our two strikers tonight.”

“David Nugent has been improving week after week, that was showing on Saturday, but the pair have had enough stick over the last few weeks. They've been persecuted by us and they have started to show the benefit of that.”

“They are playing better and working hard together. That sort of form has been built on the form of Dave Challinor and others. We were due a night after the Swansea win, and after Saturday, I thought we were due a win like this.”

“The players felt good about themselves after the Rochdale game, and they have gone out tonight and shown it.”
