Booking means one game ban for Super Kev
Date: 24/1/2004 Dale's top scorer Kevin Townson will be forced to sit out the forthcoming match against Mansfield Town due to a one match suspension picked for an accumulation of five yellow cards throughout the season. Townson, who has scored eleven goals for Dale so far this season, picked up his fifth booking during the game at Cambridge. It was awarded by referee Beeby for a foul on Warren Goodhind. Previous bookings came in the games against Huddersfield (h), Northampton (h), bury (a) - FA Cup, and Boston United (h). The suspension will leave Dale boss Steve Parkin with a bit of a selection headache for the Mansfield game. Lee McEvily is away with Accrington Stanley on a month's loan and on loan striker Andy Bishop's time at Dale is due to come to an end this weekend. |
