Lawrence hat-trick sinks Chairboys 16 Dec

Liam Lawrence grabbed a hat-trick as Mansfield Town beat Wycombe 3-2 in a fluctuating FA Cup second round replay clash at Field Mill.

The Stags took a 14th minute lead when Lawrence lobbed the ball over Steve Williams.

However, the Chairboys hit back well and equalised in the 56th minute when McSporran drilled a shot home from just inside the area.

Three minutes later the visitors went ahead as McSporran turned Ian Simpemba's cross past Kevin Pilkington in the Mansfield goal.

With just 18 minutes later Keith Curle's side equalised when Lawrence slotted home a penalty after Steve Williams had brought down Iyseden Christie.

The game looked to be heading towards extra-time until Lawrence sealed a third round clash with Burnley when he scored his second penalty of the evening after Roger Johnson had fouled Lee Williamson.
