NEW CONTRACTS OFFERED

After the news of the future absentees, Stuart Watkiss went on to name the
players that have had offers of contract made this week. Watkiss explained that "the nature of football is that sometimes, you have to move players out to make way for new players. It's not a nice part of the job, but I'm not the only one who has to do it." The question on everybody's lips is " will Greenacre be staying or going" - Well, Watkiss can confirm that "Chrissy has been offered an attractive contract, which hopefully he will agree to and stay with us" - any news of Greenacre's decision will appear on this website as soon as we hear from him. The terms of the contract which are as yet unknown, are said to be much improved. Other Contracts offered are to: Allen Tankard and new boy Scott Sellars who will be looking over a 1 year deal Young full back, Jamie Clarke who has been offered 2 years Wayne Corden, who seems to have come alive in the last few games will be perusing a 3 year offer Martin Pemberton a new contract said, only to be on improved terms. All are considering their options and we hope to be bringing you some positive news very soon. Also with Mansfield keeper, Kevin Pilkington signing a 3 year contract recently and third year scholar, Dominic Elliot signing on improved terms, the future is looking bright for the Stags. Further signings and "wheeling and dealing" will have to wait until the PFA transfer list is made available when we can think about approaching our possible targets. Talk of a deal being struck with Wallsall for 21 year old, Dion Scott, have been denied by the Stags Boss: "We have been looking at Dion who has perfromed well in recent trials - he is a player that I would like to bring to the club, but no deal has been done" said Watkiss.
