3rd December 2003 21:01

Stags Reserves 1 Stockport County Reserves 0

report by John Street at Field Mill

Stags Reserves met and beat Stockport County Reserves in a friendly at Field Mill this afternoon.

Stags with a strong squad played some lovely passing football in the first half and took an early lead through a Larkin header which followed a fine passing movement involving Mackenzie, Lloyd, Clarke, Beardsley and finally
Larkin.

Stags were strong at the back with Eaton continuing his comeback, Buxton, Dimech and Clarke, and Stockport were penned back in there half for most of the first 45 minutes.

At half-time the Stags make a string of changes with Woods,Hurst, Curle, Mitchell plus 2 trialists appearing in to the fray, and as expected the momentum slowed down a little eventhough Stags stilled looked the stronger team overall and fully deserved the 1 - 0 victory

NB It was good to see the return of Pemberton making an appearance for Stockport County.

Team:-
JWhite, Clarke, Dimech, Buxton, Eaton, Lloyd, John-Baptiste, MacKenzie, Corden, Larkin, Beardsley

Subs:- Woods, Hurst, CurleT, Mitchell plus Trialists (all at Half-Time)
