Manchester Evening News - Fri 7th Nov "Wigan Athletic are among clubs running the rule over Mansfield Town's highly-rated young winger Liam Lawrence. Rotherham have this week had a bid turned down for Lawrence who has been in impressive form for Keith Curle's team. Wigan boss, Paul Jewell, is keen to bolster his squad by bringing in another quality midfield player to sustain a serious promotional challenge to the Carling Premiership. Latics have been linked with a couple of Mansfield players in recent weeks, but Lawrence is the one to be checked out by club bosses." |
