Mansfield had to dig deep to come from behind and halt in-form Boston's six-match unbeaten run.

The Pilgrims had won four and drawn two of those previous six games and, after having a Peter Duffield effort ruled out for off side, went ahead through Simon Weatherstone.

But Mansfield hit back with two goals from Junior Mendes to seal the points and make it six wins in eight League games for the home side.

Duffield's celebration had been cut short by an offside flag when he netted on 21 minutes.

But six minutes later Simon Rusk's cross came off defender Dave Artell towards Weatherstone and he buried his finish from 12 yards.

The hosts went level as Mendes on his way to accelerate clear of the defence and lash a superb finish across keeper Paul Bastock.

That was the first goal Boston had conceded in 258 minutes of football but the next came just six minutes into the second half as Lawrence picked out Mendes and he headed home.
