4 Oct 2003 Report by John Street Stags Youth Team threw away a 2 - 0 lead in a real Jekyll and Hyde performance at Forest Town on Saturday morning. The young Stags had coasted through the first half, and straight from the kick-off Hurst rattled the visitors crossbar with a free-kick and inches wide with a second free kick minutes later. Mitchell opened the Stags account when Lloyd charged down a defenders clearance and the ball fell kindly for the Striker to lob the keeper to give the home side the lead. Minutes later Mulligan chased a Stags clearance and well worked a pass inside for Mitchell to send Stags into a 2 - 0 lead at half time. However the Second half in which Stags should have been able to put the visitors to the sword didnt happen and Macclesfield nicked two goals back in amessy and untidy half to give the Stags a edgy finish,and a be very dissapionted with a point from what should have been a comfortable victory.
