“To set a new club record in season ticket sales is a real milestone for the club and is reflective of how we’re progressing on and off the pitch.

Delighted Mansfield Town continue to stretch new season ticket sales record
chad.co.uk, By John Lomas,Tuesday 21st June 2022

As Mansfield Town look forward to Thursday's release of the 2022/23 League Two fixtures, fans continue to set a new club record for season ticket sales with numbers past the 3,100 mark already.

Last season's 2,861 season tickets was the best since club records were formed and, after a memorable season, this summer Stags passed the 2,000 mark in the first five days.

CEO David Sharpe: “It's phenomenal. I thought we'd get to that mark if we got into League One.

“So I have been taken by surprise, but it just shows the momentum that we've gathered from the last six months and from the ease of being able to purchase a season ticket now.

“I'm a big advocate of purchasing season tickets online.

“The fact that you can just log in on your phone or at home on your laptop, iPad and do it within five minutes is so much more convenient. To be honest, the system we have now should have been in place a long time ago.

“On the new Quarry Lane pricing structure, we wanted to appeal to families and younger people and try to get them on board.

“We realise we've now got a Premier League club not too far away from here so we have to do everything we can to attract new supporters.”

On setting a new club record for season ticket sales, he said: “It's probably the Nigel Clough factor as well - having a manager with his name and not just that, we backed it up on the pitch as well.

“Hopefully the supporters have realised what could be in store for next season and hopefully we'll repay their faith and their support.

“We've still got quite a while to go until the 'Early Bird' offer finishes. We're at over 3,100 so we've still got a bit of time to get to that 3,500 mark.

“I thought we'd always get high twos (2,000) in League Two but I'm pleasantly surprised and thankful for the support.”

Sharpe added: “The fixtures will be coming out on Thursday morning so there will be big excitement in the town and the supporters will be excited to see who we get. Roll on the 30th of July.”

Early surge on Mansfield Town season tickets delights chairman John Radford
chad.co.uk, By John Lomas, Tuesday 14th June 2022

Mansfield Town are delighted with the uptake of season tickets with over 2,000 bought in the first five days of sale.

Last year's total of 2,838 was the club's highest in over 12 years and, with the side then rewarding them with a superb season, home crowds increased with an average attendance of 5,151.

That was Mansfield's highest since 2003/04 and second highest since 1979/80, so season ticket sales are expected to be even higher this time around.

“We're greatly encouraged and heartened to see so many Stags' fans support the club by purchasing season tickets ahead of the new campaign,” said chairman John Radford.

“It has taken just five days to hit the 2,000 season ticket mark, which took one month to reach last year, so we're absolutely delighted by the uptake.

“We've received some excellent feedback about the speed, ease and convenience of purchasing season tickets online through our new ticketing provider.

“This has made the process for renewing and buying season tickets so much better for our supporters. Fans can also renew and sign up via telephone and at the stadium if they so wish.

“We sold almost 3,000 season tickets last season, which is the club's highest in the modern era. I'm hopeful we can exceed that figure before we kick-off off the new campaign.”

Radford believes the early sales show the optimism of fans that the side can achieve this time around.

“Despite last season's final day disappointment and heartache at Wembley, the figures reflect a renewed hope and belief that we can go one step better next season,” he said.

“We must use last season's Play-Off Final as fuel to re-energise us and return even stronger and more determined than ever before.

“We can only build from here. Nigel (boss Clough) has laid some strong foundations following a season of significant progress last term.

“The quality, entertaining football experienced at One Call Stadium last season has really caught the imagination of Stags' supporters and indeed the town, which is one of the reasons why we saw so many bumper crowds in 2021/22.

“It made for an even greater atmosphere inside the ground and we would love to see fans flocking to One Call Stadium next season in what promises to be another fascinating campaign for us.

“Carolyn and I would personally like to thank every season ticket holder from last season and to those who have already renewed for 2022/23. Season ticket holders are the bedrock of Mansfield Town and we greatly appreciate their support.”
