The Shrimps have secured the signing of defender Farrend Rawson on a two-year deal.
Rawson will join the Club officially on July 1, following the expiration of his contract with Mansfield Town.
The 25-year-old started his career with Derby County, before gaining valuable experience in the Championship with Rotherham United. He scored his first senior goal while at the Millers, notching in a 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic at The Valley in 2015.
From there, Rawson spent time on loan with Coventry City and Accrington Stanley before making a permanent switch to Forest Green Rovers, signing an 18-month contract with the at-the-time League Two side.
The central defender racked up 97 appearances during his stay at The New Lawn, before heading to the One Call Stadium to join up with his new teammates at Mansfield Town.
“It feels amazing, I am really excited and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead,” said Rawson.
“I had a really good time at Mansfield, it was a very good learning curve for me, I played a lot of games and got a lot of experience under two different managers.
“Following on from conversations with Greg [Strong] and the manager, about the way they saw, the Club going and the vision they had essentially aligned itself with my own visions and progression.
“The move was a no-brainer for me, their plan is exactly what I want and I want to play my football for a Club that matches that, I can’t wait to get going.
“I have played a lot of games at League Two level and I feel like I have proven myself there to a certain extent, and for me I believe it is time for me to step up a league and test myself again.
“I want to show people what I am capable of, I have done it before and I want to do it again, I want to achieve special things, I want to impress the manager and the fans as well.
“Under this manager I know that I will be able to learn more and add different things to my game, as I said, I have played a lot of games for a 25-year-old, I am a commanding, dominant centre-back that tries to read the game well and I pride myself being bit of a brick wall and getting clean sheets.”
Shrimps manager Derek Adams added: “Farrend will add strength and power to our defence, this will be important for our team.”
Mansfield Town boss Nigel Clough speaks on decision to release Farrend Rawson and Danny Johnson

Mansfield Town boss Nigel Clough today spoke over his decision to release central defender Farrend Rawson and put striker Danny Johnson on the transfer list.
“It's always difficult to release players, but we had to make a decision and release a couple,” said Clough.
“We were signing another goalkeeper to replace Marek, but Faz Rawson was a very difficult one as he'd had a good couple of years here.

“It's just with the number of defenders we've got really. With (John-Joe) O'Toole, (Oli) Hawkins, (James) Perch and (Elliott) Hewitt we've got quite a few central defenders and we will probably sign one in the summer as well.
“So, unfortunately, Faz just becomes surplus to requirements.
“But it's been a pleasure having him around and working with him for a couple of years. He is one of the most genuine and honest lads you could ever wish to work with.”
Rawson, signed from Forest Green Rovers, lost his place in the centre of defence in the season run-in and did not even make the bench at Wembley last weekend.
He tweeted: “@mansfieldtownfc it’s been a pleasure! Wishing you nothing but success and happiness for the future.”
