The club can confirm that it has triggered a clause in the contracts of defender George Cooper and forward James Gale to extend their stay at One Call Stadium.

A new six month contract has been offered to striker Jimmy Knowles.

All developments regarding the senior players’ retained list will be officially communicated as soon as they are confirmed following the conclusion of this season’s play-offs.

Clough on Sinclair, 16 May 2022:
"He didn't take the form he showed at the back end of last season into this season. And we've improved as well. So there's a couple of factors there. He's needs to play regular football and we couldn't offer him that. He struggled a little bit at Scunthorpe along with the team."

Clough on Cooper and Gale, 16 May 2022:
"I think they will probably go out on loan again (next season). They will be back pre-season and we'll take it from there. We feel as though getting them out on loan at the highest level .. they've both been out at Conference North ... at a young age, is the best way to develop them. We've seen a big difference with them since they've been out on loan when they've come back and trained with us."

A massive heartfelt thank you to every single person at MTFC.
... and especially to the superb supporters who have backed me from when I was 16.
This is a club which is, and always will be, close to my heart, and it was a dream come true to play for my boyhood club.
I always cherished every moment when I pulled on and wore the Stags shirt and stepped out onto the grass to represent Mansfield.
I wish everyone at the club, the owners, board, gaffer, staff and first team, every success in the play-offs.
Let's have a right go and get this club in the league it deserves to be.

Had a great 3 years at this club and will always be grateful for the opportunities I had. However, time to move on and follow the next chapter in my career

After 5 years, my time at @mansfieldtownfc has come to an end. I came to the club as 16 year old boy and leaving as a 21 year old man and I can’t thank everyone at the club enough for trusting in me and giving me time to develop into the player and person I am today. I’m gutted that we couldn’t seal that promotion but the boys and everyone should be proud of the season we’ve had. This season I haven’t performed up to the standards that I know I can perform at and me moving on from the club now is for the best. I’m looking forward to a needed fresh start where I can find myself and kick start my career again. Thankyou to everyone associated with @mansfieldtownfc #TS17
