Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month: November nominations

The November nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:

Gary Bowyer (Salford City)

Dovetailing Salford’s lofty ambitions with the results and style to turn them into reality can seem an inviting yet precarious task. A poor start didn’t help, but eight points from four unbeaten games rewarded Bowyer’s methods.

Nigel Clough (Mansfield Town)

A revival that began in October blossomed in November with three wins from four games to move Mansfield into mid-table. Never one to panic, Clough’s quiet belief saw the Stags beat fellow strugglers Stevenage, Scunthorpe and Crawley.

Rob Edwards (Forest Green Rovers)

Limited to just three games, Edwards’ side won them all by a two-goal margin to maintain their grip on League Two. He has instilled a calm assurance and belief, as well as an expansive attacking style using the full width of the pitch.

Matt Gray (Sutton United)

Like last season, Gray’s remit at Sutton is to avoid relegation. Like last season, he is building the foundations and momentum to challenge for promotion. His side’s three wins from four games were all achieved without conceding.

Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month: November nominations

The November nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award are:

Oli Hawkins (Mansfield Town) - central defender/striker

Hawkins did it all in November. Thrust into service at the heart of the Mansfield defence for the wins over Stevenage and Scunthorpe, he resumed his striking role at Crawley, scoring one goal and making another with a deliciously curled pass.

Jordan Moore-Taylor (Forest Green Rovers) - central defender

The pivot in a Forest Green back three which conceded just one goal in the month, Moore-Taylor possesses the versatility to combat physicality, passing moves and pace. Displayed his aerial prowess with a headed goal at Hartlepool.

Jack Payne (Swindon Town) - midfielder

Easy on the eye when he combines running with the ball and silky passing as he did in Swindon’s unbeaten month. Has energy to burn, too. His three goals in three games were all coolly taken in the final 10 minutes of matches.

Dom Telford (Newport County) - striker

The goals keep on coming for October’s winner, one in each of his four games and all but one of Newport’s five in the month. He is making scoring look simple at the moment, notably with a curling shot on the run at Colchester.

Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Nottingham and iFollow Stags:

"To come from where we were, 14 games without a win, to then win eight out of nine from that position has been a brilliant achievement by everybody and we will try and continue it on Saturday (against Salford)," he said.

"I'm not interested in the personal stuff really - I just want a point or three on Saturday."

UPDATE: Rob Edwards of Forest Green won the manager of the month award, and Dom Telford of Newport won the player of the month award.
