FA impose three match suspension to midfielder
mansfieldtown.net, Fri 10 Sep 2021

A statement from the Football Association today reads:

“Stephen Quinn has been suspended for Mansfield Town FC’s next three matches following behaviour which constitutes violent conduct during the 73rd minute of their EFL League Two game on Saturday [04/9/21] against Harrogate Town FC.

“The midfielder’s behaviour was not seen by the match officials at the time, but it was caught on video, and The FA subsequently charged him with a breach of FA Rule E1.1.

“Stephen Quinn admitted the charge but also claimed that the automatic penalty was ‘clearly excessive’. An independent Regulatory Commission dismissed the claim during a hearing and imposed the standard three-match suspension.”

In the last few minutes this part of Mansfield's statement has been removed from their website.

"The club is extremely disappointed by the decision - as we have been with the standard of officiating so far this season - but totally unsurprised.

The player will be disciplined accordingly."
