Blackpool eye Wheatcroft
BBC Blackpool boss Steve McMahon is running the rule over young Bolton striker Paul Wheatcroft. The 21-year-old was due to play for the Seasiders' reserves against Bury on Tuesday as McMahon continues to look at possible new recruits. Wheatcroft started his career as a trainee at Manchester United before moving to the Reebok Stadium in June 2000. He has been unable to break into the first-team at Bolton, making just three substitute appearances in cup competitions. However, the former England under-18 international has scored goals in the Nationwide League, finding the net three times in six games during a loan spell at Rochdale earlier this season. He has also been on loan at Mansfield Town. |
