What was the point

Seriously what was point in pressing with Flint up top, which made us far worse.

Take the point, move on...

Agreed, brave but foolish in a game that could have gone either way. Should have played safe in those circumstances.

Amen to that.

Masterstroke if it comes off… but I’d have taken the point and the previous unbeaten run

Completely agree, it was a terrible decision. Made us less likely to score and more likely to concede. Clough deserves plenty of slack of course but nonetheless that was poor from him.

It just didn’t make sense in any capacity. We had Akins to hit if we wanted to go long. We were getting chances at fairly regularly intervals, it’s not like nothing was working and we never looked like scoring. In fact seconds before the switch Oates made a nuisance of himself nicking the ball and created a chance for himself. If anything there was a problem in midfield at that stage as Reed, Quinn, Lewis had no legs and were starting to lose the battle

These things happen, and it’s been a great run, but it was a rubbish change that has ultimately cost us our unbeaten run.

I wasn't there and the commentators did say that more was coming as a result of Flint going up front. Lewis and Akins both had chances after he went up front which it sounded as though they should have taken. The goal didn't sound like it came from him not being in the centre of defence.
As i say I only have the comms to go on

Entirely different circumstances Ralphy.

We were losing that day and playing really poorly. Nothing was working and there was nothing to lose - it was worth the risk.

Today we had a solid point in our hands and were playing fairly well.

Yeah hard to say if he would have stopped their goal. They hit the post twice and we blocked shots. they just smashed it in after some ping pong.

Just unfortunate. Just a side that is 1 goal off the leading scorers. it showed why, They reminded me of us last season good going forwards but that defence is gonna cost them in the long run.

It's also why this point (18 games gone) last season we had a GD of +4, alread lost 6 and just in the play offs. This season we have a GD of +17 and lost just once and just inside the autos.

Bowery was taken off and if Swan isn't 100% (like he wasn't on Tuesday) there is really no other option available to us but put Flint up front.

Gambled and lost , for me it just brings home how desperate we are for another striker to add to the ranks . Carl Stockton anyone ?

If Swan can't come on for the last fifteen minutes instead of putting Flint up front, then why is he on the bench?

Personally the wrong decision for me. But before anyone starts criticising Nigel just think if you were one of the people posting on here a few weeks ago about drawing too many games and not trying harder to win games. Unlike NC to give a point away we really should have had, but fair enough for going for it.

Glad it wasn't just me that thought this was a bizarre decision! Disrupted the defence and we lumped the ball forward and had no pace up there to benefit! And how do you think Swan feels that his manager would rather stick Flint up top than him!
I'll also add and get loads of flack, but Quinn added nothing to the game and has no legs which puts pressure on the midfield. I'm afraid the subs we bring on at the moment make us a weaker team :( What does Boateng bring to the game?
