Throwing Flint up top in a game like that at that stage was absolutely ridiculous I’m afraid and it cost us.

A really frustrating ways to lose as I think we at least get the point if Flint is where he should be.

We're 3rd with a game in hand. But Wrexham are the 2nd team to the Magic 36pts milestone.

Must win on Tuesday. Then a weekend off.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Unfortunately I don’t see many really good strikers knocking about…Its a kicker when you lose in injury time but now we need to win on Tuesday and move on.

Crewe are the team who will be fighting us for top 3, so todays loss is still a kicker

When it's 1-1 its a massive risk and potentially bit us on the A*** today.

If he wanted abit of a presence up top....choose Gale on the bench instead of Swan.

Annoyed to lose today....especially in the circumstances that unfolded

Gale injured.

I assume Swan isn't 100%

Didnt known that....

Been a really good midfielder for us so far but I can see why Lewis has only scored 5 goals so far in his career. Three cutbacks fell to him inside the box today in acres of space and he’s not connected with any of them. He’s had a lot of chances like that this season that he’s not taken. Something he needs to work on for sure.

Both came off injured in the piss-pot cup.

Lucas sitter from 5 yards, Lewis 2x pass backs to the keeper.

Massive chances to win, move on and let's bounce back Tuesday

You'll go a long way to see a poorer referee than that idiot. Two penalties missed, numerous poor tackles and we are lucky Quinn is no out for another six months. Officiating was shocking.

I agree, we should have settled for a point.

We need to start another unbeaten run starting Tuesday. It won't be easy as Tranmere have had a good win today.

An end to end game and although disappointed with the result it had to come some time.

To be fair, Swindon had the turning of our defence on quite a number of occasions and on another day could and should have scored more. As others have pointed out, it was putting Flint up front that caused our downfall as not only did we lose him but MacDonald and Cargill didn’t have much time to get up to speed either. It also can’t do much for Swan’s confidence knowing he can’t get on even when we have no-one else.

It’s important to get a result on Tuesday now but we should be more than capable against a struggling Tranmere who have only picked up one point away so far.

He's played as a full/wing back most of his career. They usually create goals/chances as opposed to scoring them.

Be interesting to see if Clough is asked about the decision to send Flint up top.

It’s hard to be too upset given the run we’ve had and all the good decisions he’s made so far, including bringing on a player who scored within a minute of coming on. Although I appreciate I’m not one of the fans travelling back home having seen a point slip away in the last minutes.

Oates has to be the most frustrating player I've ever watched....

Very disappointed with the result but the unbeaten run had to go sometime. We have won and drawn games that we would have lost last season and we are in a better league, points and GD position than last season. On to Tuesday and promotion. COYS!

Felt that we missed Clarke in parts today. Second half they had a bit too much joy being able to carry the ball in midfield against our three who weren’t very mobile. Important for us to get him back (although this happens with Clarke regularly), he’d have been perfect to bring on today

Never thought I'd advocate one up front but that's what we need to go back to with the midfielders buzzing around Akins like before his injury.
Then we don't get over run in midfield like with the diamond and two up front as DKD doesn't work back enough in that role?

I thought overall it was a good game , a point would have been ok..didn’t need to go for the win..putting Flint upfront reeks of desperation for striking options...Swan not in the picture and Gale clearly not good enough ..but ? Who’s out there ? ….

Clear now that a lot on here said striker is most important if we are going to get automatic place
Oates is great but not scoring anything like enough
Forget Swan
No good
Gale not good currently but too young
As said who is out there we can grab
Clough needs to send out a big search party somewhere
Striker costing us big time
Flint up front is ok odd games but Nige got that one wrong today
