Who’s Your Favourite Allen?

Postby Warsop Stag » Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:58 pm

As we’ve all seen, Cheaterfield have taken to non-league like a duck to water and their early chirps on here are great fun to look back upon.

In recent years, they’ve given us so much, from back to back relegations to fraudulent competition winners to signing alleged sex offenders, but as we continue to laugh ourselves silly at them, we must ask ourselves, who is our favourite Allen?

Is it Dave, their very own Keith Haslam, who is slowy but surely choking their club to death?

Or is it Martin, whose comedy press releases, ale house signings and hoof ball tactics have Bobs Bored crying into their mint sauce?

I’m going to say Dave as his (negative) impact will be longer lasting and hopefully put them alongside Curzon Ashton and Bradford Park Avenue next season.

No wrong answers here, folks. Just laugh and enjoy.

Surely it's a triple threat albeit a variation of the spelling Allen.

Dave, Martin and Hardy.

I'm sure Blythe Spartan got the revenge in the 80s ?
Dave Allen is my favourite and may your owner go with you.
I can't think of any other Allen for stags ?

Mine too Marty, can remember him scoring a brilliant header against Sheff Utd at home, absolutely cracking atmosphere and match even though we lost 4-3 in about 1979?

Allen Tankard. Memorable for last minute winner at Macclesfield, and last minute missed header at Leicester which would have earned a replay in the FA Cup.

Just no.

She’s a contemptible waster. Useless and untalented.
