Needs to come off the transfer list. Brilliant link up play in midfield tonight. Deserved a goal as well. Looks a totally different player under Flitcroft
Could have earned himself a start saturday.
Well done !

Got to agree. Last year I was his biggest critic, but tonight he showed what he was capable of. He looked a good asset to the squad and there’s definitely a place for him this year - his work for the 3rd goal was class.

If it weren't for Walker's 2 penalties making a hat-trick, he would be my MoM. He pulled the strings in the first half and should have had his goal in the second. Get him off the list now and into the team for Saturday.

Looked like he played further forward today than usual and was very effective.

Our youth’s finally coming good! Thought he looked sharp all pre season too. Unlucky not to get Mom for me as well tonight.

He was on the same line as Khan, just behind the striker, but on the right side.

Always been a fan and wanted him to succeed. The fact is there is a very good player in him (which we all know) and it seems that Flitcroft is the man to get it out of him and playing again.
Well done Butcher keep it up.

Thought he was superb should have had his goal when he was wrongly flagged offside

Flitcroft will get the best out of him, no bully boy tactics just pure and simple respect

Perhaps he's settling now; in life at and away from Mansfield Town. Maybe the new manager and his adjustments works for Butch.
Would be a shame to finally get a tune out of the guy only for him to leave. Could be like a crucial and pivotal seventh signing.

It’s great news that he’s playing well and looking like he’s enjoying his football once again. It’s good that we have competition all over the pitch for a place in the starting eleven. Wearing the amber shirt means something to this group. Well done DF.

Said it last season when all the experts on here were telling everybody who would listen what a poor player he was, the blokes a 2 time promotion winner from League 1. You don't have that on your CV if you can't play. The difference quite simply is he's being played in his best position as an attacking midfielder. Well done Butch keep it up mate you never know in 9 months time you might just have a 3rd promotion on that CV.

Hope what everyone is saying about Butcher becomes the norm.
But one excellent game etc, etc, etc?

Outstanding last night and my MOM. Covered every blade of grass and pressed when not on the ball. A real handful.

Really please for the lad. Just goes to show how much of a drag Evan's management was on some players

Looking like the player Steve Evans wanted him to be.
Why couldn’t Mr. 9 promotions manage that? Answers on a postcard........
Looking leaner, hungrier and showing how he can pass and move. Long may it continue.

He shows more in that 3+ minutes highlight package from last night than in the whole of his stay under Billy Liar.

Butcher was fantastic last night with excellent work rate and vision and supportive link up play and his insight to lay on the goal for Kahn was brilliant..... even better he looked like he cared which you couldnt say last season

Didn’t see the game last night but pleased for him if he did play well last night. Hopefully he can continue to play well if he stays (maybe he is the one who wants to leave?)
It doesn’t change the fact that he was awful last season debut aside. He looks fitter, Flitcroft can hopefully extract the best from him.

You should watch it on iFollow Sam. It was the best 20 quid I have spent at Field Mill for a long time.

I feel robbed to be honest. For 20 squids I expected at least 7 goals from the stags

If we can take that kind of performance into forthcoming L2 matches, we are champions in the making.

Yes, but I remember how anonymous he was last year. Apart from his goal at Carlisle he did nothing so it's encouraging to see a really good performance at last from a player who is probably a high earner too.
