A tense 90 minutes but the Stags come out on top with a 2 - 0 win.

Add that to your running total please Big Yella.

Always going to be tough against Accy, we rarely get a result but milk doesn’t mix with fizzy pop so we have a chance.

Who thought it would be a good idea to charge £20 for this game?

The cost will be a barrier. I’m still 50/50 on going, mainly down to the potential lineups. I’m ok with paying the money but I suspect both teams will use it to give a few fringe players game time, that’s my issue with tomorrow’s game. I work away from the town so it’s a lot of effort weeknights so might save the good grace of my employer and use it later in the season, some already think I take the raspberry with time for footy at my place!

no extra time this season, straight to pens if level at 90 mins.

And pens are back to the usual format (ie ABAB) after the trial of the ABBA format last season.

It might not be that much of an appealing game, but win it and next round could be very lucrative to JR and the club if the right draw comes out of the hat.

I make the same post every season. I hope we take the League Cup seriously and play our first team as this competition can make us some decent money which means JR does not have to put his hands in his pocket as much.

We've also had some great nights under the floodlights in the League Cup playing and sometimes knocking out teams from the Premier League (Division 1) and The Championship (Division 2) including Leeds United, Wolves, Coventry City, Southampton, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Luton Town, Stoke City etc.

A good cup run can also help to galvanise a side and bring the squad together.

Flitcroft does not have many choices to swap the team around if he wants to take the cup seriously, especially in the 3-5-2 formation.

Is Paul Anderson avaliable? Wonder if he will make changes to the back three? Can put Sweeney in and maybe Gibbens. Same with the attacking positions.

Plenty of depth in midfield though, I’d give Mellis a start.

Didn't realise that it was the League Cup and assumed that it was the Freight Rover and didn't take much notice (no, didn't bother to look into it carefully!). £20 is a price worth thinking about anyway.

On reflection, Yeovil cost a small fortune in fuel and accommodation (as well as the ticket) so I think I'll sit out this one. I'd probably have gone had it been £10.

But you went to Yeovil, paid full price for the ticket etc, etc.
If it'd been me I'd have spent the money at my club tonight and probably saved £100 into the bargain if I couldn't afford to do both.
£20 is a bit steep though but Accy'll had their say in fixing the price so it's not down to just MTFC as they get a cut of the takings.
