Big Al chasing the big names once again...

Not only does he sound Brazilian but his brother is that Ronaldo Vieira. He's got previous in signing footballer's brothers, that lad that gave that stupid penalty away at the weekend is Oxlade-Chamberlain's brother.

Any relation to Magno Vieira who Steve Evans and Mickey Mellon signed in the Conference Premier for Crawley and Fleetwood?

No, but his real relation, Ronaldo Vieira was given his first pro-contract by Evans at Leeds.

I see they’re looking for a stadium sponsor to rename Meadow Lane. I know all clubs look for other sources of income, and there’s nothing wrong with it but I get the impression Hardy is panicking a bit. Big financial outlay on players this year, paid off Nolan, compensation for Kewell, now more signings, and he’s said they’ve overspent by £750,000. Doesn’t seem very shrewd to me.

So if Medder Lane gets renamed will Radio Florist and East Midlands (excluding Mansfield unless it's a bike race) Today stick to their guns and refuse to call it by its new name, like they do to us but not Derby or Leicester?

I love the fact that Radio Nottingham call it Field Mill, that's what it's always been and what it always will be. Same as Meadow Lane will always be Meadow Lane. Sponsorship doesn't mean anything to us fans.

Bit of an odd choice of a trialist for me. County fans are screaming for a keeper, defenders or maybe a tough tackling experienced midfield general, and this kid ticks none of those boxes by the sound of it?

On face value he makes things about as watertight as King Canute's spring tide defences ;)

Rumours that they're after Jake Kean but he's been training with us for a few weeks.

The lovers of damp bed sheets ( not to be confused with clean sheets ) are selecting their starting 11 v Stevenage on Saturday.

Interesting that only 1 out of 60 (so far) has included (Les) Dennis in the starting line up.

But it wouldn't be what WE deserve would it! WE deserve automatic promotion. If the worst did happen and we got relegated (way too soon for that talk yet) any deserving should be laid fair and square on the person(s) responsible for assembling this pile of garbage. (4th best defence my arse!!).
4th best with Yates in front of it. Absolute crap once he left and absolute crap that he wasn't replaced (as near as possible) or the defensive weakness sorted last Jan and this close season. Don't even mention goalkeepers or CB!!!

Just seen that post. I hope they do go down. Might make them a little more humble.

Reading on, I see they think Stevenage on Saturday is a gimme! A gimme to the 92nd place team in the league. Deluded. I hope Stevenage beat them comprehensively. It'll be fun reading next week :o

Does Mr Hardy know that John Terry is available?

He is out of contract so could go straight into the first team and he could make him player/manager. Of course that would mean he had to sack Harry but surely he will be gone before November anyway as he didn't win his first two games at Grimsby or Exeter.

I think it would be a bigger coup than the Sol Campbell signing and would surely end with instant success.

The problem is, that if the same bottom three are there or thereabouts come the next transfer window only one has cash to burn on even more players. Morecambe and Macclesfield are run on hope and air with no cash between them.

just because they have cash to spend doesn't equal success, or staying in the league. their defence needed sorting out in the summer and they bought strikers and midfielders. and as we all know, there aren't loads of amazing players available in January
