In all my years watching the Stags various managers have tried it and its never brought success.
The only time it remotely looked like producing was years ago under Parkin with Steve Harper bombing up and down.
The players at our level cant do it and where does it leave our 'wingers', as the wingbacks are nearly always 'full backs' so you are starting with 5 defenders no matter how you dress it up.
Ill give it a chance knowing inside that it wont work, afterall France and Real Madrid have just won the two biggest prizes with a solid back four, that tells it own story?

I agree Rhys Bennett will be missed.Tippy Tappy Football wrote:Amber Andy wrote:Digby can cover both those positions.
I know Andy but it looks like Paul Digby is on his way out. We should have done all we could to hang on to Rhys Bennett especially if we are playing three at the back. I would also be very nervous about signing Nathan Cameron due to his injury record especially after Mirfin and Diamond last season.

Well the "walk away" manager clearly wasn't.Kernow wrote:The gaffer was worried about how many goals Rhys cost us last season,
