Now you know why.

We are getting like the Aussie media, who don't, apparently, report defeats.

Was this the same John Reed we had on loan from Sheff Utd many years ago?

As per Martin's link (above), I posted the result from the U21's 2-0 defeat at Gainsborough Trinity on this very forum on Saturday night, when I eventually got home from the Northolme, via taking a friend to A&E in Worksop. But for the benefit of those of you who missed it...
Here is a link to the photos from the game: https://www.flickr.com/groups/4511920@N20/pool/ including the team sheet details.
Result:
Gainsborough Trinity 2 (Damien Reeves 33, Rod Orlando-Young 44)
Mansfield Town 0
The young Stags played really well and a good number of the home supporters commented on how well organised, entertaining and talented the team that Mike Whitlow, Richard Cooper and Simon Ward had taken across to Gainsborough were. But Trinity have some wise old heads among their ranks, who pounced to capitalise on two lapses of concentration in between the first half water breaks, which led to both goals.
Man of the match, was Gainsborough's keeper Jon Stewart, so you can draw your own conclusion from that.

Gainsborough had Ross Hannah and Damian Reeves upfront, now there is a strike force that would of scared many Conference defenders, back in our non league days.

Yes pal. There are U21 or Development sides of some description at: Matlock Town (Tue 17th), Shirebrook Town (Thur 19th) and Basford United (Fri 20th) as things stand at the moment.
But check before setting off because of the flexible nature of pre-season friendlies :D

Ha, ha... amended accordingly, put it down to a combination of prescription drugs, non prescription drugs, old age and impending decrepitude
