Something we have to thank Steve Evans for. ;)

Over the past year, I don't imagine there's a manager in the league who has signed more players than Steve Evans

Adam Rooney joins Salford from Aberdeen!!!

paid a fee as well

Interesting head to head between Gary Neville and the Accrington Chairman on Twitter yesterday - Accy Chairman accusing Salford of trying to buy their way into the league, then disclosed that their wage budget was £1.1m this year, of which they had spent just over £900k - and challenged Neville to disclose their budget. Neville obviously wouldn't.

Clearly the advice he got from all those Chairman they have asked is to give 3 year contracts out and pay big wages. Rocket science Rodney.

Crawley sign Filipe Morais - great signing that is having made 52 appearances for Bolton in the past year.

An Alfreton Town fan told me that last season that Salford City's budget was said to be £35,000 per week = £1. 8 million. They have now signed Rory Gaffney on £3k per week and Adam Rooney on £4k per week. I expect more big signings in January if they are in with a shout of promotion.

It was a fantastic achievement by Accrington Stanley and John Coleman to win the league last season on a budget of around £1 million but it will generally be the exception to the rule. John Askey at Macclesfield Town did a brilliant job as well.

Just sounds like sour grapes to me by the Accrington chairman. If an investor came to him with a ton of money would he tell them to push off?

I like the fact that in the BBC doc about them they were pretending that they were living within their means and only spending what was sensible, not much chance of people believing that anymore!

Makes me laugh when folk call into question the goings on at lower league level, when Man City and Chelsea basically bought the premier league titles they have won. It’s very rare teams do that well on low budgets, and although Accys player budget was low they can benefit players in a host of other ways!!!

Agree. What they spend is up to them. I expect Salford to be in L1 in less than five years. If they want to spend money , why not. We have.

Lincoln have re-signed Scott Wharton on loan. Would’ve been good for us.

Scott Wharton is a left sided centre half who did well for Lincoln City last season. They have been chasing him since the end of the season.

A great statement by Boreham Wood about the conduct of Morgan Ferrier and his new 25 year old agent.

Not a great situation at all there.
Correct me if I'm wrong though which I normally am
Did Wimbledons offer not meet the release clause of 35k ? If so how can they decline it.?

Boreham Wood's main issue was that AFC Wimbledon had matched Tranmere's £35k transfer fee but not Tranmere's sell on fee. Morgan Ferrier's agent the started threatening them and making defamatory comments about the club and the Chairman.

The release clause in the contract is a sham because the sell on clause has to be agreed, so BW have in fact a veto on the transfer. The £35k means nothing if the sell on clause cannot be agreed.

I see , So basically Boreham Wood could ask for a 75% sell on clause therefore killing any potential transfer
