Danny Lloyd signs for Salford from Peterborough - would have been a great signing for any league 2 team let alone non-league. Posh fans not pleased to see him go, Salford must have offered him a fair whack (unsurprisingly)

That's a very strange one. Is he a Manchester lad ?
Was a regular for Posh last season.

Maybe he booked a holiday through ‘Steve Evans Travel’ this summer and instead of Dubai he ended up in Salford?

‘Steve Evans Travel’ has got form for ending up at the wrong destination.....

Wow  I knew Salford were splashing the cash but for him to drop down 2 levels he must be on upwards of £2,500-£3,000 P/W!!!

John Sheridan says Carlisle need at least another five signings but he is not panicking.

Being a regular at a big L1 side to dropping to non-league at his age is very strange.

Perhaps it was his dream job to play for Salford.

Danny Lloyd is from Liverpool. He is one of Peterborough's speculative signings from non-league similar to Marcus Maddison, Ricky Miller, Junior Morais etc. He started off playing for Southport before moving to Colwyn Bay, Lincoln City, Tamworth, AFC Fylde and Stockport County.

Is £80k a year peanuts?

You still think footballers care about what league they play in? They care about the money.
He could conceivably have doubled his salary.
Not only that, I would say Salford, regardless of division, is a more 'glamorous' job than playing for Steve Evans at Peterborough.
Factor in that he will probably be a top player in the division and factor in he's probably got more chance of winning games next season.
Not a strange decision at all as far as Im concerned.
i would prefer not to.

He wasn't going to be a regular this season.

There are lots of players who are happy to drop down a league or two to pick up a big pay packet (or longer contract). You could argue that this may have applied to some of our players last season e.g. Paul Anderson, Calum Butcher, Zander Diamond, Will Atkinson etc.

I can remember James Constable leaving Oxford United to join Eastleigh. Jermaine Pennant, Paul Konchesky and Jamie O'Hara played for Billericay Town in the Ryman/Isthmian League. Premier League players now go and play in USA, China and the Middle East. They are not going there for the quality of the football.

Money is all that matters, can't blame them really. A lower league footballers career is what he can make it.

Loyalty and ambition come down the pecking order, all this garbage you read about players not even mentioning money in negotiations is just that, garbage.

Another Posh signing  Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, forward from Man City. I would imagine this is the one we just missed out on in January that was eluded to?

He went to Oxford on loan last season and was rubbish by all accounts.

Good signing for Crawley.

Two League One standard midfielders joining Swindon and Crawley in the last two days.
