The only reason he would have celebrated would to have proven a point to evans.

Now he's gone, there wouldn't be any need

Love both of these guys for getting us back in the league, but I will reserve applause for after the game.

Palmer seems to find a way of performing each time he plays us. I'll clap Green and Rhead

Lincoln mate of mine has the exact thoughts as the majority of us about Palmer. Big headed and absolutely tosh at football .

Ex players not celebrating scoring against their old clubs should be an instant red card dismissal & 3 match ban.

Game needs more Adebayor needle & a lot less kumbaya'ing Lampards

Yep I agree. I think most of us on here agreed that we should have kept Rheady, even if only as an impact sub, tonight he was by far the most effective player on the pitch. Green looked like he did last season, a pale shadow of the striker that ripped the Conference to shreds.

Rhead was terrific. He's very, very good at what he does. Our front two were tommy tank tonight. He's similar to Akinfenwa.

He was indeed. It always makes me smile the number of people on here who said he'd never do it at League level, one even went as far as to say he was the worst ever player in a Mansfield shirt. I wish he played for us, what options he would give .

Green is never going to be the old Green but Rhead goes from strength to strength
If he wanted to come back we should take him quickly as very few ball winners in the air like him.
Guess he is very happy at Lincoln though and who would blame him

Rhead was in my view the best player on the pitch

The only issue is when you have him on the pitch you have to use him - despite other comments on here I though Lincoln were v direct and long ball. That's not a criticism as they were very good at it , just an observation

Bit harsh. Danny Rose ran himself into the ground, made some very important defensive headers as well. Kane Hemmings wasn't great but showed bits of quality on the ball, let down a fair few times by poor passes from CJ. Wasn't really getting service.

Got to agree Green was no real threat at all but Matt Rhead was superb. He won everything in the air, he out muscled our backline constantly and always made a point of dropping on to Benning and in that battle there's only going to be one winner. His hold up play, ball retention and distribution were all excellent. He is exactly the forward you want to be bringing in to see out a game with a one nil lead.

Fair play Matt Rhead.

To be fair, our midfield didn't help matters, they should have been on his toes giving the centre halves a dig out (see McGuire Vs Akinfenwa for a masterclass) but they were left to deal with him on his own. If Rhead gets in front of you, there's not much you can do from behind him.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

Not sure how Green skied the bicycle kick so spectacularly from only a few yards out. Would rather Green have scored than Palmer.
