Simples

I would wager locking fans in is now an humans rights issue?
I can't remember the last time this occurred either home or away. Anyone remember when?
It's 2017, we can't lock people in against their will can we?
What if they need to catch a train or need to leave 10 minutes early for whatever reason?
When we are 6-0 up with 15 minutes to go I am sure some of them will want to leave early and they should be allowed to do so!!!

Remember Luton away in the semi final, luton police blocked in all the stags fans behind the stand for a hour because about 10 Luton kids were kicking off,

At Bristol Rovers we were kept behind for more than an hour in their car park

Indeed we were, but once again Mansfield supporters had been involved in causing plenty of trouble in the city before the game. Keeping us behind didn't really help as once released from the car park there was more bother in the surrounding streets.

Stags & Pompey fans seem to have a pretty good relationship to be fair.
I backed my car into a cop car the other day, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay...

Why would "they" want to "get" anyone ??

Because some of them are complete and utter arseholes who think they're above the law.

The Gabitas Gate is getting a name for itself. I was on pointless and was asked to name a famous gate to win 5000. I plumped for the Gabbitas Gate but it scored 6 points. Top scorer was Brandenburg at 44 points. Armstrong thought it might have won but Osman said later that he also would have gone Gabbitas.

I think pointless is the appropriate word for the gate.

OMG!!

It's friendly for crying out loud.

You have to ask yourself how are they going to manage when FGR come to town.

Power trip for one man it seems.

At least they haven't cancelled the game as they did against Birmingham two years ago due to potential trouble!

Son Of Sherwood wrote:All of the above very valid points could be rectified in an instant with one change and one decision by the SAG.

That is to return the North Stand to it's rightful occupants, the home supporters. I know it would still leave a possibility for trouble to flare up but, as in my day, most home fans would make their way into town then off home. The away fans would be marshaled onto their buses on Quarry Lane and out of town up the A60, etc.

This isn't and never has been rocket science level qualification decision making!

Correct !!

Just been down to pick a ticket up and it looked as though the police were preparing for G20 style encounters. There were about 6 riot vans and several cars.

That said, there were quite a few chaps in front of me buying up tickets for our end who were obviously from Sheffield...

Let me get this straight in my mind.....

The North stand has a reduced capacity imposed on us by the SAG after Notts County caused trouble and in doing so knocked over one of their own fans, who happened to be a councillor. He was the one who then complained to the SAG.

Now Wednesday fans are openly buying tickets for the home end because they can't get them for the away end. They even have a thread on their message board asking who's going in the Mansfield end.

It appears that beurocracy and safety don't mix.

You really couldn't make it up.

So let me get this right........

We have one stand closed for home supporters. WHY??

We have most of the non located Notts police at the game. Guess who's paying that bill.

We, as a club, are quite happily by the sound of it, selling tickets to away support (in the Mansfield end, so to speak)!

Mix that lot together and the outcome is guaranteed.

Does Mr Radford know?

This sounds like a real cluster.

Why restrict numbers in the away end ? What's the logic ?

Most away fans usually park either in the quarry lane area or over on the retail parks, so after the game both sets of fans have to walk past one another.
How crazy!
Just asking for trouble.
All of this needs sorting before we get anywhere near the championship.
Come on plod, sort it

So did it all kick off after then or was it a massive over reaction for a pre season freindly?

So, could someone explain the logic of reducing the size of the away crowd in the Notth Stand ?

It's a revenue affecting decision.

I saw Notts plod milling around on Portland Retail Park at 10:45 this morning.

I guess that you can't be too careful around a pre-season friendly, nice spot of OT n'all that.

We must have the thickest of all Notts Police's finest covering matches at the Wonk.

Today, you'd have thought that they were policing Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday.

The Notts police need there pre season practice too. I'm sure some of the new signings need to get more baton practice.
