They must be worried about that last game of the season away at Barnet. What a vital game that could be for both teams. Hopefully Cheaterfield will already be down by then with massive debt hanging over them. Administration would be an absolute dream so they missed the conference altogether on their fall into oblivion

I reckon Barnet will be gone by then so it could be a dead rubber and nobody likes them, especially if your names Johnny.
One things for sure the game against
will be crucial for both of us.
I hope they'll give us extra tickets. An extra section of the ground would be nice because pushing for promotion we'd sell double our 1.9k allocation.

There will be a lot of twists and turns before the season is out, both at the top and bottom . Theres always a team that goes on a good run and turns it around . Towards the end of the season you get the teams who have nothing to play for and try out some of their youngsters .
Watching Barnet yesterday , I think they will struggle to get out of the bottom two
Grimsby and Crewe are poor at the moment .
I think what the Spireites have going against them is similar to what we had . They will back their manager and team but I can see them turning on the owners like we did with Haslam . This caused a lot of tension around the stadium .

Interesting remaining home fixtures they have. Apart from the next one against Cambridge, everyone else is in the top half and chasing promotion/play offs so they may have to rely on away form to survive.
Bearing in mind that only a third of their current 27 points so far have come away from home, leaving them bottom of the away table so far, and it doesn't look too good for them. 6 of those remaining 8 away games are against teams in the bottom 9 so every slip up will be costly.

Sorry Dave, I’ve literally written the same thing word for word on another thread, 12 hours after you. Great minds, albeit yours quicker than mine.

Their player recruitment has been awful. Just not good enough in both windows.

Picture this ,0-0 v Barnet on the final day a point will do the raspberry there safe at 0-0 .96minutes on the clock akinde slips 6inches out side of the 18 yard box ref points to the spot steps up takes the penalty hits the post hits the keeper on the back of the head and trickles in . How long would it take you to stop laughing

Personally I'd want one of the Bees full backs to get the ball on the halfway line and go for a lucky punt catching the keeper out who's all of a flap and t'ball sneaking under the bar.
As the whistle goes one of the direite faithful muscles his way into the Directors box and splatters Allen's nose.
That sort of thing has happened before somewhere in Lge2, can't remember where though

Even someone as emotionally malnourished as you knows that it's all relative.
Jack Lester keeping Chesterfield in the division this year would be a far, far greater achievement than Evans winning promotion with you.

Lovely to see that finishing 22nd in League 2 is now seen as a fantastic achievement for Chesterfield....

Go on then, I'll indulge you.
Why would a promotion this season (without a league title) with the budget he's enjoyed, be anything more than doing the minimum required?
