The only name that thwy need on the list is Martin Allen. Lets hope they dont get him.
4th favourite according to SkyBet

If any of the current top 3 (Lester, Evatt, Davies at the time of writing) get it, they're down.

Who's the smart money on to lead you to Lge 2 safety?

I remember the 99/00 season when Billy Dearden performed an absolute miracle in keeping us up. A squad of about 8 players a week before the season kicked off; having to pull in journeymen and nobodies to fill a squad; thumped 6-0 on the first game of the season; 6 points after 8 games. Yet he dragged it round and laid the first few blocks towards an eventual promotion season.
It's a season that's kinda been forgotten but was quite a managerial performance from someone who didn't just have his hands tied; he was hog-tied to a spit with a Granny Smith in his cakehole.

Amber Andy wrote:Jack Lester now bookies hot favourite. As we know former playing legends don't always make good managers. Having said that, he is doing great things at Forest with the under23 team.
It was only a matter of time. But their recruitment hasn't been great since Cook left, so you could be ok.die hirsche wrote:I dont find any of this funny.
I've got 2 grand riding on this. Young Gary was doing such a good freakin job of it as well.

Even though Sir Dave Allen wants his money back he was quite prepared to back them, and they got their top 6 budget for the division. Obviously he wants that back too but I think once they get that right man in charge and tinker with the team they'll be alright. They could be renamed Teflon Four Leafed Clover FC, don't forget.

The problem is the supposed Top 6 budget has gone predominantly on 1 man. They've got very little else in their squad so not sure why you think they will be ok. You have more faith than the 4 lads i know who are all season ticket holders. They said in May they would drop through league 2 into the Conference and nothing has so far made them change their minds. Its not really Dave Allen who is the problem its Ashley Carson who is currently in charge where the problem lies.

I too have mates who follow the unwashed and they are quite positive about the recruitment, they blame bad tactics. Square pegs in round holes where square pegs are available. I'll be delighted to say I'm wrong but my mates are still convinced they'll be there or thereabouts this season.

Would your mates be kind enough to tell what brand of beer they drink

I think it's very good of the hostel to allow your mates out occasionally.
