Really? He really has ruined his career hasn't he.

He probably has a different career now.

I watched the Liverpool game back a few months ago. Forgot how immense Howell was in that game for a player with limited ability.
There's even one instance where Clemmo sprints back and makes a sliding last ditch challenge in his own box. Unbelievable.

I think Howell's career nose-dived after his agent laughably stated he had received bids from championship sides.

No, no you didn't. Don't lie

That was because if you obtained a ticket beforehand you were guaranteed a F.A cup ticket v Brighton

I'm not sure but when we drew Liverpool we had a similar offer on for the Lincoln replay. We managed less than 4k home fans for that one

Yes but the Liverpool ticket was not guaranteed if you bought a Lincoln replay ticket. We still needed to beat Lincoln first.

A game that should be an interesting watch on Tuesday night if you're not going to field mill.
Barrow v Lincoln live on BT Sport 2.
i would prefer not to.

I hope they don't get promoted. They are a rival. Stuff them.

Totally agree. Why the thread? We care about us in the now, not old players etc or bloody Lincoln.

Yes, but we were only mid-table at the time. Lincoln are top of the league. If we were top of the league we would be getting similar attendances to Lincoln.

I doubt it VP, we won 12 straight to move into pole position and even then (apart from the final game) only broke 3.5k home fans that season once. From what I saw of the Imps against Ipswich their style is very similar to Cox's style back then so the football's not keeping them away. Their gates were down to 2,500 when bumbling about mid table in previous seasons but they've backed their club at the prospect of success whereas our townsfolk never really did.

Last season their average attendance was 2,700 with a low of 1,800 & a high of 5,600 for the derby with Grimsby who probably made up half the crowd. The average of 2,696 was their highest season average since being relegated to the conference.

This season is exceptional for them & fair play to them for that but lets not make raspberries up about their support historically just to fit your anti Mansfield agenda.

As for the football, well our web-fingered friends have always enjoyed that kind of ugly route one raspberry, they used to plough the pitch at one time and their whole ethos was about thuggish hoofball and bundling the ball in the net from a yard out. They were always a god awful side to watch
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Watched them play Ipswich and they lump it into rheady more often than not .So the fans ain't going for the Barcelona style footy. Its again a strange one .They have doubled the gates and lets not forget they are in non-league .I am told the city has grown and become more affluent hence the increase. We have looked at it with interest .
