Did he ....?

Postby EdwinstoweStag » Sun Jan 14, 2018 10:48 am

Did Mr Evans acknowledge the 499 travelling Stags Fans at the end of the game at Abbey Stadium?

I hope he went over and shook everyone’s hand and gave them all party bags, if he didn’t then Evans is a joke and needs to leave our football club

Serious question. I was there and I didn’t see him. I could have missed it, of course.

Probably busy reading the 'Very Poor' Stagsnet thread and gnashing his chops at how Stags fans are unsupportive.

It’s respect to supporters who have travelled and sacrificed nearly a full day to be their.

Grown-up retort, eh?

I happen to believe that the manager SHOULD acknowledge the fans, along with his players. All it would take would be a wave before disappearing down the tunnel. He seems to be displaying petulance. This is sadly disappointing from a man of his standing.

I don’t expect you to agree with me cassellswasmagic, but please don’t deride me.

There was one of the Liverpool legends (think it was KD) who said back in the 80s something along the lines of 'I don't get this trend for players applauding the crowd, I thought it was supposed to be the otherway round'.

Yes he did applaud the fans as he walked off with Paul Raynor. We seriously need to move on from this.

Well if you truly believed that then you would have watched the video on this very forum that clearly shows him following the players towards the fans. He doesn't get as far as them, but, as said he can be clearly seen.

So you can put away your plastic, attention seeking disappointment for another weekend.

These precious 'I'm doing the club a massive favour by giving up a whole day and spent loadsa cash doing so' fans really make me laugh.

Did the club come and ask you personally?
Have they ever asked you to go personally?

The simple fact is you've gone cos you wanted to, you didn't have to give up jack all.

If I go and they've got a result or even lost but played well that's enough for me.
If they've won they could all stand in front of me and give me the 'finger' then as they turn round drop their shorts and 'moon' at me as far as I'm concerned.

The constant digging towards Evans is exactly the reason he comes out with the stuff he does Edders. FGS just leave it alone, he did acknowledge the fans but if he didn’t so what, it makes very little difference as all I’m bothered about is we keep this amazing run going of 1 defeat in 20.

I'm not sure where this sense of entitlement has come from? People go to support through choice.

Agree with cassells above this constant digging does no body any favours, move on together or not at all.

We need to move on and become a single movement, fans, players and management alike.

I would rather he concentrate on getting the striker, who will finish all the good work we do, until we get 10 yards from the goal. It's nice for the players and manager to come over and acknowledge, but not a pre-requiste for following the team.
And yes, I did attend yesterday and still cannot understand why Roses goal was given offside.

Blimey!

I asked a civil question. I was at the game and did not witness what I would have thought to have been a reasonable gesture of respect.

I am happy to learn that he did and that I (and others) had simply not seen it.

Whether or not he should thank the fans in the way I questioned is simply a matter of personal opinion - to which we are ALL entitled to hold.
