RHYS SUSPENSION REMOVED/LIAM SUSPENDED FOR 2 GAMES
13th March 2003 13:17

mansfieldtown.net reports that the FA appeals commission has come to a verdict regarding the disciplinary cards issued to Rhys Day and Liam Lawrence.
After considering the evidence presented to them the Appeals Commission in Birmingham felt that the challenge between Rhys Day and Tony Carrs was an innocuous 50/50 challenge and it didn't warrant any form of discipline so the straight red has been stricken from his record and the second yellow card was also removed. Day will therefore not be suspended at all and will be playing on Saturday against Swindon.
Liam Lawrence, whose red card dates back to 23rd November against Bristol City where he picked up the straight red post game in the tunnel, has been served with a two match suspension which comes into affect from the 31st March so he will have to sit out the home game against Port Vale and the return match against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Representing the two players were Stags Chairman Keith Haslam and Manager Keith Curle.

Meanwhile, Ben Doane's loan runs out after Saturday, so he will be available against Swindon.
