Stags to play Blues in friendly
mansfieldtown.net, Fri 12 Oct 2018

Mansfield Town’s first team will play away to Birmingham City in a behind-closed-doors friendly tomorrow morning.

Stags will be without defenders Krystian Pearce (Barbados) and Ryan Sweeney (Republic of Ireland U21s) as well as forward Omari Sterling-James (Saint Kitts & Nevis) who have been called up for international duty, which led to the postponement of tomorrow’s Sky Bet League Two game at home to Grimsby Town.

Speaking to http://www.mansfieldtown.net, manager David Flitcroft said this evening: “As we endeavour to remain in a rhythm of work, we have arranged a game against a high-calibre opposition in Birmingham City.

“The match will enable us to increase match minutes into players and to ensure everyone is up to speed.

“We will look at different combinations and partnerships as part of our quest to keep improving.”
