STAGS TRIAL FOR FOREST STRIKER
7th February 2003 13:10

BY IAN WILKERSON, Evening Post, 07 February 2003

Nottingham Forest striker Mickael Antoine-Curier will be training at Mansfield Town for the next two weeks.

The 19-year-old French centre-forward, who joined the Reds in April 2001, has yet to break into Paul Hart's side but his contract is up at the end of the season.

Stags manager Keith Curle is looking to boost his strikeforce but will wait before deciding whether to offer him a loan deal.

Curle said: "At the moment, we have used up seven loan deals this season and we have only got one left.

"We are just looking at him in training and seeing if there is enough there for him to be our eighth loan.

"We have been unable to do any training on the football field and we want to see if his services would be of benefit to the football club.

"We are grateful Forest have given us the chance to do that."

Curle signed striker Junior Mendes from St Mirren last week and Iyseden Christie has scored 16 goals for the Stags this season.

Antoine-Curier has scored eight goals for Forest reserves and been on the bench once this season, for the Worthington Cup win over Kidderminster Harriers.
