The former Walsall man collided with Brian Jensen towards the end of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers and Murray described the effects of that.

“It’s something to do with his cruciate. It’s not his ACL, it’s a PCL; apparently it’s not as bad but we’ll see.”

Murray explained that the whole squad was ‘gutted’ with the news, but they’ll use it as motivation to extend their good start to the season.

“Mal was obviously gutted yesterday, we were all gutted but we’ll rally round him and he knows we’ll look after him.

“It’s been a tough couple of days but this is a strong group and we’ll use this as motivation.”
